The same 1.2L turbocharged engine and 6-speed automatic transmission carry over from the rest of the Trax lineup. What changes is the way it looks, inside and out.

Comes With
Both RS trims are built around the same powertrain, tech, and safety suite. Here is what you get standard across the RS lineup.
1.2L Turbo Engine
Every 2026 Trax RS runs a 1.2L turbocharged 3-cylinder producing 137 horsepower and 162 lb-ft of torque, paired with a 6-speed automatic. Front-wheel drive is standard; AWD is not available on the Trax.
Wireless CarPlay & Android Auto
Wireless Apple CarPlay and wireless Android Auto are standard on both RS trims. An available 11-inch center HD touchscreen and available wireless charging round out the tech stack.
Chevy Safety Assist
All 2026 Trax trims include Chevy Safety Assist as standard: Forward Collision Alert, Automatic Emergency Braking, Front Pedestrian Braking, Lane Keep Assist, Following Distance Indicator, and IntelliBeam.
54.1 Cu. Ft. Cargo
The Trax RS has a 60/40 split-folding rear seat and up to 54.1 cubic feet of maximum cargo space. For a compact SUV, that is a usable amount of room for daily errands, grocery runs, and weekend gear.
RS Styling Package
RS-specific grille, black bowtie emblems, RS exterior badging, and red interior accents are included on both 1RS and 2RS. The 2RS adds a sport flat-bottom steering wheel and 19-inch wheel upgrade.
Available Wi-Fi Hotspot
An available built-in Wi-Fi hotspot keeps passengers connected on the go. Rear seat passengers also benefit from available USB ports, depending on configuration.

Inside the Cabin
The RS interior is distinguished from the standard Trax trims by red accent stitching and trim details throughout the cabin. The 2RS goes further with a sport-inspired flat-bottom steering wheel and an available Jet Black interior with Red accents.
Both RS trims offer the same connectivity tech: wireless CarPlay, wireless Android Auto, and an available 11-inch HD touchscreen. The cabin is compact but practical for five passengers and everyday cargo.

The Trax RS is sized for city driving and easy parking, but the interior does a reasonable job of making use of the available space. With the rear seats folded, cargo volume reaches 54.1 cubic feet.
The 60/40 split-folding rear seat gives you flexibility for longer cargo or passenger combinations. It is a practical layout for people moving away from sedans and hatchbacks.

Standard Safety
Across the Board
Every 2026 Trax — including both RS trims — includes Chevy Safety Assist as standard equipment. That is six driver assistance features at no extra cost.
Additional available safety content includes Rear Park Assist, Adaptive Cruise Control, Rear Cross Traffic Alert, Lane Change Alert with Side Blind Zone Alert, and OnStar Protect. The IIHS has awarded the 2026 Trax Good ratings on both driver-side and passenger-side small overlap front evaluations, as well as its updated side crash test.
